if I have one superpower
it is being able to detect endgame pairings in the media I consume.
(I KNEW RON/HERMIONE WAS GOING TO HAPPEN IN BOOK ONE. I FELT IN MY SOUL THAT ALANNA WOULD END UP WITH GEORGE COOPER. I also totally called that there would be romance between the grumpy red lantern and the AI-controlled spaceship in the Green Lantern Animated cartoon, and I'm gratified to see that the show is moving in that direction.)

This is the God I serve: When I had an irrational disappointment at the lack of shortbread cookies in my house, He told me to grab the box of Thin Mints. Inside the box of Thin Mints was a sleeve of Trefoils. Not only is God great, but He is personal.

Hahaha I have a bunch of OTP drawings circa 2011-2012 that I was hoping to have done on my birthday, but I didn't, so those will be coming soon. I had a great one, nice and laid back but lots of fun thanks to my parents and the ever excellent
spiderstars which involved the ultimate cake (peanut butter with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache!), Uncharted 2 which becomes exponentially better when Elena Fisher is on screen, and rewatching most of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, or as I've recently renamed it, Tragedy Lesbians. It was lots of fun!
To humor myself I figured I'd post a meme that's been going around tumblr over here, because I've recently come to terms with the fact that I am the monster your parents warn you about at night, the shipper who softly keens "otp" when watching the latest Persona 4 episodes on Hulu. So if you're bored and want to know things, pick a letter and leave a comment!
( meme under the cut )
Also I don't know if this effects anyone else, but the Persona 4 fighting game is coming to the US this summer, Assassins Creed III was announced and apparently there will be a Young Justice videogame written by the creators coming out sometime in 2013.

At BGSU I participated in the BFA art show, which is intended to show off a culmination of everything you have learned at the school. I decided to completely disregard that, and tried something new with limited success. Cut paper is time consuming and messy, but it's also pretty fun. I think I might do more in the future, once everything here is unpacked and set up. I've included some pictures in case anyone was interested in seeing them!

Why do all of my friends have to have good taste and thus don't watch Glee? I have no one to share in my excitement over the upcoming episode :'(
My Slytherin pairing is back aw yeah. In other news, I watched Thor and loved it shamelessly. I don't even know why I have friends.

So I have been making art, but tend to let the files rot on my computer and flashdrive, oops. To be fixed! Here are some things I made for the BFA show at my university last semester, but ultimately scrapped and went with something else because I realized I had completely ripped off
pbandjessi unintentionally. There are still some things about some of them that I like, and it's worth posting!

And that's it! Next post I'll show what I actually made for the BFA show, and then the stuff I've been doing since that I like better than both. Until then, I hope this was mildly interesting.

EDIT: Here is the link to the new petition
I wrote this when I signed a petition in response to the GOP's attempt to redefine rape as rape having to be "forcible" in order to qualify for government funded abortions. If that sort of thing is upsetting or traumatizing to you, it would be best if you did not follow the link. I'm posting this because, hey, I stayed up much later than I wanted writing this, I may as well document it for myself later on.

Gosh it's been a while since I've uploaded some art. Laaazy. I'm so sorry about that! I'm really going to try to be better about that this year. In any case, I have some ink drawings and my first attempt at cut paper. I didn't get a picture of the second one, sadly. Also, warning for one naked girl/satyr, should you be at work!

IDK. You're not the easiest person to be friends with for us emotional ones, but you've gotten loads better and you're totally worth it anyway.
Why

Happy Birthday to an awesome person! You're going to make the world an awesome place. Here, have a Zach Effron for good measure.

Hey guys! I'm not sure if there's been any confusion, but I decided after two days of dithering to change my lj name from stormantia to
tommyrotter. Stormantia served me well for several years, but I felt that sort of nerd (old terrible dragon-fantasy story character name) didn't properly represent the type of nerd I am today (name based on ...a future...comic...).
So yes! Still Kelli here, but going by
tommyrotter now! And if anyone has twitter and is interested in following my sporadic tweets, I go under the same handle of tommyrotter there as well.
Thanks!

Ask me my top five of anything (fannish, philosophical, historical, my incredibly boring life-ical) and I'll answer themin a later postin the comments! Hopefully with images and links! Though possibly not, because I suck at that
After reading
radiomaru's Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour I realized, not for the first time, that I am awful at coming up with cute/attractive outfits for drawing. It's always really static and bland and boring, which always makes me unhappy. So! If you find the time, I'd love it if you guys could link me to some cute outfits (male and female, please)? I'm planning on doodling them in between work, my latest comic w/
spiderstars & spending time with people. If you want to request specific characters, I'll do them too! I just. I am terrible!
Thanks in advance!

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4-7 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest (unless it's too troublesome to reach and is really heavy. Then go back to step 1).
6. Tag five people.

Ugh! I feel like such a bum! May is almost over and I feel like I have done almost nothing productive! Fun things, sure (Cincinnati trip with
spiderstars and
aeirol, reading several books, chatting with
sarahtales and the Marmalade Fish, among other things) but nothing really productive. And that makes me grumpy. So I think, starting on the first day of June I will be sure at 9:00 pm to either work on an original story or comic idea/collaborative story/comic idea, or I will go for a jog around the block. And if I'm otherwise busy at 9:00 I will find a different time that day. I need to get into a habit, instead of wasting my time away!
In other news, yesterday I rescued a duckling from a pool! He was not pleased to be handled, but luckily my mom and dad came to help (as I was at my job), and my mom found his mother and sibling and reunited them. Team Fisher! Rescuing ducklings as we find them.

Been feeling really good lately! I've been hella productive, the weather is gorgeous and most of my floor has gone home for Easter which means it is very quiet on my floor, always a plus. In a hilarious digression, I always forget about Easter. Was it yesterday? A couple people wished me a happy Easter and it made me pretty uncomfortable. Mystery~

Note: This shouldn't give away anything that the trailer doesn't, but if you're scared of being spoiled don't read the rest of my post.
So, after seeing a preview for the new Stars TV show Spartacus Blood and Sand, I was vaguely interested. Like many, I am not opposed to gratuitous amounts of action, blood 'n sexy-times in my viewing choices, and Spartacus promised just that. Sure, it looked to be the same plot I've seen in and out before, but hey, some things are bound to be different, right?
...Well.
I suppose I wasn't prepared for just how similar it would be to things I have seen. I've only sat through about fifteen minutes of it, but all the same it feels like I've rewatched 300, followed by Gladiator. It makes me wonder: do all Greco-Roman stories have to follow the plot of man has sexywife at home. man goes to war. man is defeated by unbeatable odds and/or betrayed by a larger organization (cough TRE). Man swears to get to wife and/or revenge+death (if wife = dead) at all costs. Life is hard, but man succeeds. Man is victorious? I had been interested in checking out HBO's Rome, but if it's going to be the same thing I'm leery. I mean. The trailer didn't look as though it will be, but who knows!
In any case, I have a serious poll:

As the year moves closer to its end I am starting to do something I never thought I would do: reflect on myself. To keep it short, I've gone through a lot of changes (both good and bad) and know I'll go through more in the future, and I want to celebrate that. How, you may ask?
By putting a hunk of metal in my face.

It's 2009, about to become 2010. And I think it's going to be a good year.
